Soluna Holdings Expands Partnership with Blockware in Texas
Soluna Holdings Inc. is enhancing its collaboration with Blockware by adding 6 megawatts MW of capacity at its Project Dorothy 1 site in West Texas. This renewable-powered data center project began deployment in January and is set for completion by the end of February.
This marks the third expansion between the two companies, indicating a focus on growth within established operations rather than venturing into new areas. Soluna credits this expansion to its ability to offer flexible and cost-effective infrastructure at renewable sites.
Repeat expansions like this are a strong signal that our model is working
said Soluna CEO John Belizaire, emphasizing the importance of reliability and scalability in their infrastructure.
Blockware CEO Mason Jappa highlighted the significance of operational consistency during growth phases. He stated that dependable infrastructure and rapid deployment were crucial for continuing their partnership. In an industry where uptime is critical, reliability often leads to repeat business.
Project Dorothy functions as a behind-the-meter digital infrastructure that transforms surplus renewable energy into computing power. Soluna utilizes this for bitcoin mining, AI and high-performance computing HPC solutions. By expanding within an existing site, Soluna can support customer growth while maintaining disciplined capital deployment.
Project Dorothy is part of Soluna s larger pipeline of over 1 gigawatt GW in renewable-first data centers aimed at supporting HPC workloads and utilizing energy that might otherwise be wasted. Although the 6 MW expansion may seem small, in the realm of energy infrastructure, incremental growth is often intentional.
